Melton is an ambitious Council and we are equally ambitious for the communities we serve.  We are currently seeking an exceptional candidate to join a dynamic and progressive team to become our new Director for Housing and Communities.  Following a corporate restructure, this newly formed directorate will play a major role in delivering a number of key corporate priorities.

The remit of the role is broad and includes customer services, revenues and benefits, waste and environmental services, as well as responsibility for the Council’s housing and landlord services. By drawing these customer-facing services together, and with a new digital self-service platform recently procured, this is a fantastic opportunity to transform the whole customer journey for key community-based services.

Our partnership work and people-based services are cutting edge, but we are facing challenges in our housing function and have recently committed to major investment to support our housing improvement plan which now needs to be implemented.  This represents a great opportunity for someone to lead, guide and reshape these services in order to deliver better outcomes for our residents.

We are therefore seeking candidates with a wide breadth of experience and expertise across housing and other community-based services and with the right attributes to lead, support and empower their teams to achieve.  You will have the skills to both reflect and think strategically alongside the ability to drill down and focus on and support operational delivery.  You will be a system leader with strong partnership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with Members as we work collectively to deliver our exciting agenda.
